A bold reimagining of one of Black Metal’s most infamous experimental works, Future Sounds of Filosofem sees Musatariq and Son of the Firmament reconstructing Filosofem through the lens of electronic music. Rather than offering a straightforward tribute, both projects deconstruct and rebuild Burzum’s bleak atmospheres into entirely new forms—cold, detached, and futuristic.

Musatariq approaches the source material with a minimalist synthwave perspective, morphing two Burzum tracks into glacial, otherworldly soundscapes that retain the distant melancholy of the original but place it firmly in an electronic dystopia. Meanwhile, Son of the Firmament—a project by K. Ravko (Smoke, Cave Ritual, Void Prayer)—translates the music into dark electro, weaving hypnotic beats and brooding textures into the raw spirit of Filosofem.

This is not a tribute for purists. Future Sounds of Filosofem is for those willing to embrace transformation, those who understand that Black Metal has long since decayed, leaving behind echoes waiting to be reshaped. Limited to 50 purple pro-cassettes with full-color inlay.
