After six years without a release, Stalen Gezicht returns with two new rehearsal recordings.
Recorded by a rotating cast of familiar names from the Utrecht Raw Black Metal underground, these sessions continue the band’s improvised approach. Nothing here was written beforehand. The recordings lurch from repetitive, droning guitar passages into sudden eruptions of noise and collapse just as quickly back into formless chaos. Vocals appear and disappear beneath layers of distortion, often sounding more like another source of interference than a focal point.
Compared to earlier material, these rehearsals lean further into noise. The guitars are blown out, the recording quality is poor even by rehearsal standards, and large sections seem to drift without direction before accidentally locking into something resembling a riff. The result is nearly twenty minutes of hostile, lo-fi Black Metal that feels genuinely unstable rather than deliberately constructed.
