A brilliant alliance between these 2 great projects of the dutch scene.

After a comeback last year, in a brilliant split with Sternklang and a new project called Wanklank, Jeroen (Owl, Frostbite, Wanklank, Irrswich), one of the crucial names in te Lobith scene, has in this material the 9th release under the Nord moniker. With a two very different tracks this time, the first one a bleak mid-paced hypothermia-inducing track, more or less in the typical Nord style, with freezing melancholy slowly leaving you immobilized and Jeroen’s great melodic leads and layering. The second track on the other hand, while perfectly fitting, is a much more feral and crushing one, a freezing blitzkrieg of deadly riffing, and programmed drums that feel like ice spears raining upon you.

Vengeful Spirit, on the other side, is a relatively new, mysterious project, that presented its debut demo, “Demo I – Yurei”, last year via the great Kaladruna. And presents here two new tracks, perfectly complementing Nord’s side with bleak, malign spectral Raw Black Metal, with hypnotizing, necrotic riffing and enchanting basslines. Like Nord, the first track here is also more mid-paced, trance-inducing and with very interesting spoken vocals as well as ominous chants, while the second track is faster and barbaric
