Description

The latest manifestation of Profectum Iri expands upon the project’s long-established Black Noise doctrine with its most expressive line-up to date.

While still rooted in the improvised collision of Black Metal and noise, the circle has widened considerably. Alongside the traditional instrumentarium, layers of violin weave throughout the recordings, adding new dimensions of tension, dissonance and ecstatic release. The result is neither orchestral nor refined; rather, it feels ceremonial, as if the music is being conjured collectively rather than performed.

Gone is the image of the solitary hermit. In its place stands a gathering. Voices, strings, percussion and distortion intertwine into a sprawling mass of sound that drifts between invocation, cacophony and trance. At times meditative, at others completely unhinged, the album explores territories previously only hinted at within the Profectum Iri catalogue.

A new chapter for one of the more idiosyncratic entities to emerge from the Black Hermetic Order.

Undisclosed limitation.
