Description
Decrepit Black Noise at its most sinister. Sekte emerges from the shadowy underbelly of the Netherlands, bringing their occult-infused black metal to life with Doodsrituelen. Composed of members from the notorious acts Profectum Iri, Vèrken, and Planet Aids, this project is a direct testament to the darkest corners of the underground scene.
The debut release Doodsrituelen (translated: Death Rituals) unveils two heavy, ritualistic tracks that blend brooding black metal with eerie ambient textures. Side A sets the stage with a relentless half-hour ritual, weaving slow, occult-infused notes and dragging, atmospheric black metal passages into a fog of creeping dread. As the second ritual begins, a more overt form of black metal emerges, with intensifying drums and dark, ominous vocals lacing the already thick atmosphere. The pace remains unyielding in its slowness, reflecting the haunting, sinister nature of the band’s name and concept.
This is a release that invites you to step into a shadowy, occult realm, a place where rituals take place under the cover of darkness. There’s a subtle but chilling quality here, where every tremor of sound sends a ripple of unease. Released through the elusive Balkans label Odmetnik, this release is a must for fans of dark noise and black metal, particularly those drawn to the occult themes and the slow, ritualistic pace that defines the genre.
